2 on 1 takedown attempt training, Ming vs Anna and Gary #
In Core JKD, progressions are an evolving series of movements, refinements or training conditions to create a well-rounded fighter.
They can start by stringing together simple elements that fit in flow.
Example 1:
- Jab
- To a cross
- To a hook
You can add elevations changes:
- jab high
- cross mid
- hook high
They can be more complex adding range transitions:
- Jab on step (adding a range transition element)
- To cross
- To hook on stepping (vectoring) out (again, with range transition)
You can progress to incorporating attacks from your partner:
With a jab attack you could progress to:
- Inside parry (open lead) to jab
- Cross on step vectoring out
- To hook
If you were in a closed lead it could be:
- Inside parry to lead jab then cross hook
- Or inside parry to cross to hook
